7. Gone Girl. Gone Girl is a very good adaptation of the thrilling page turner but it still falls short of completely capturing the magic of the book, as adaptations often go. It is the story of two starcrossed lovers with a picture perfect marriage that falls apart, when the wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike) disappears from their suburban home.

Although, Amy’s husband, Nick (Ben Affleck) a self-absorbed owner of a bar is not very concerned over the disapperance initially he does turn into the police’s prime suspect in the case, and the situation just goes from bad to worse as Amy’s diary reveals pages upon pages of their marital issues, involving his out-of-control rage and infidelity stories. Rating: 8/10.
